We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead an asset management project.  They will, under the program management and project lead direction, manage a team of business and technical staff that incorporates new technical approaches and improves key business processes.

Excellent project management skills (PMBOK preferred).  Successful, broad history (>10 years) of managing concurrent large IT application development projects and delivering ‘on-time’, ‘as-required’, and within budget. Expertise in system development methodology, preferably RAD and SDLC. Highly proficient in Microsoft Project tool (required.)  Ability to quickly learn a business area and be able to self-produce project deliverables (business case, scope, process flows); become a valued SME (Subject Matter Expert) in the system area supporting the business.  Excellent leadership skills, time management skills, communication skills, facilitation skills, analytical skills, team-building skills. Must be able to work in a highly challenging, dynamic environment.  Internal IT operations, including asset management processes knowledge is strongly desired.    Experience managing projects with various hardware platforms and software a plus.

The Project Manager is expected to create and maintain the overall project plan including schedules, issues, risks, assumptions, financials, change orders, resources, and deliverables.  The PM is responsible for understanding and supporting the project objectives.  The PM is expected to have a strong understanding and proven experience with project management and system development methodologies and best practices’ experience with all phases of a project.

The PM must be able to easily and clearly communicate/present with all levels of stakeholders and team members. Communication is expected to
be done often, honest, early, and with poise. The PM is responsible for managing the team including dedicated team members as well as matrix
managed team members; must be able to effectively manage employees, contractors, vendors and consultants.  The candidate must be diplomatic and able to work with and respect all personality types and various organizational structures.  PM is expected to use and, as appropriate,
recommend best practices, efficient processes, performance measurements and tools to manage, measure and improve Project Management;
support process excellence initiatives to identify and successfully complete quality improvement projects that drive better results for customers
and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Manage the team to deliver project deliverable on time per an approved schedule and budget
Coordinate with multiple business and technical teams in multiple locations within the overall program
Communicate project status and present to all levels of management effectively
Facilitate requirements gathering
Manage vendor or tool selection
Manage change requests and risks
Use and support best practices and standards
Manage escalation to resolve conflicts and enforce decisions in a quick manner
Understand business requirements and objectives
Create and manage the overall project plan.

Skills:

Must have excellent communication skills and relationship building skills.
Project planning, estimation, and project management (MS Project and other PM tools) (PMP, TQSM, IT Service Management, and related training/certifications is highly prefered)
Effective listening, requirements gathering, prioritization, consensus building and analysis skills
Ability to exercise independent judgment, work on multiple initiatives, and manage time effectively
Ability to facilitate diverse groups and multiple staff levels
Results oriented with a strong passion for technical and service excellence
Critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution

Education / Experience:

BS/BA in Information Systems Management or Business or equivalent experience
Proven experience in systems development and integration projects, managed full life cycle of a project
Experience in projects using business process management and service oriented technologies strongly recommended
Proven experience in process improvement and developing high level strategies and vendor management
10+ years IT experience
10+ years Project Mangement experience in a large program, matrix,
and multi-team environment. At least 5 of last 10 years should be in a similar role
