This position supports the AHM Information Systems Division (ISD) by providing communication plans and consultation for designated North American (NA IS) and/or global Information Technology (IT) services, products and system change/upgrade initiatives.
Primary responsibilities include the design, creation, and implementation of complex full scale communication roll-out materials delivered on schedule and on budget from inception to completion.
The Communication Consultant will ensure all communication plans and materials are appropriate in style and tone for multiple audiences and are aligned with project milestones, ISD standards/strategies, and corporate culture/compliance/goals/strategies.
This role will require:
1-The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced “time is of the essence” and changing environment – having quick problem solving capabilities that incorporate patience, common sense, and speedy creation of high quality communication materials.
2-The ability to successfully manage approval flows and build positive relationships with internal ISD and external (HR, Legal, Corporate Communications, etc.) stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Perform business situational analysis, GAP analysis and/or audience analysis. Design, create, and implement full scale communication roll-out plans and materials from inception to completion based on audience analysis, stakeholder concerns, budget, project timeline and division/company goals/compliance/culture. This also includes obtaining management and stakeholder approvals. Collect, synthesize and translate complex data into easy to understand information. Possess strong writing/editing, design and communication based skill sets needed to develop materials for executive level presentations and speeches, mass population email broadcasts, marketing campaigns, division “Town Halls” for staff, news articles, analysis and feedback surveys, templates, intranet web page content, instructional guides, easy/repeatable management “Meeting-in-a-Box” material (presentation and script), on-line training, class room training, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), and hard copy campaign collateral for marketing (posters, table tents, brochures, quick tips help cards, etc.). Understand and respond knowledgeably to organizational development issues or behavioral change dynamics that may need to be addressed in order to have a successful technology-related communication roll-out. Handle confidential information appropriately and ethically. Perform successfully in a highly organized, motivated, self-starter manner able to work well independently, in collaboration with others as well as with various levels of management. Able to perform effectively in a diverse, fast-paced, and high-volume workload environment while meeting critical deadlines, under pressure, handling multiple priorities/projects at the same time, with quick response problem solving skills and still be structured yet able to remain flexible. Advise and counsel project leads and management on internal communications issues, road blocks, and/or opportunities as needed. Understand information technology and information security tools and concepts sufficiently to communicate them in user-friendly, laymen’s terms for the business and ISD.
Qualifications (Education & Experience)
BA or BS degree in Communications, Marketing, or Communications related field Minimum 3-5 years experience in Communications or Marketing (strategy, planning, and development of materials) Minimum 3-5 years experience managing multiple communication projects and various stakeholders within large complex organizations Minimum of 1-2 years experience in events planning involving all facets (i.e. logistics, facilities, audio visual, promotion, catering, etc.) Demonstrated track record in planning, project managing, implementing and creating materials for multi-faceted communication campaigns. Work samples (hard or soft copy) will be required during the interview Professional presence on the phone and in-person Demonstrated aptitude to understand, learn and communicate effectively with others at varying levels within a company structure (ISD, HR, Legal, Associate Relations, Corporate Affairs, Facilities, etc.) Experience with Windows 7 and Office 2007/10 deployments (a plus but not required)
Computer Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 or higher required Proficient in Lotus Notes required Proficient in web/phone conferencing tools such as: WebEx, Interwise, AT&T Connect required Familiarity using graphic layout software. e.g., Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop a strong plus Familiarity with Documentum content management system, other web publishing software and HTML a strong plus
Working Conditions:
Some communication events or meetings may require long periods sitting or standing (1-2 hours). Desk work for an extended period of time with a high amount of keyboard and mouse usage required. Due to a large company campus and communication events, some walking, bending and lifting up to 15 lbs. may be required at times. Low-wall cubicles with up to moderate noise level in work environment Schedules and hours may vary occasionally as needed for events or emergency communication needs
