Lead, influence, co-create and govern the architecture for all Honda’s telematics related activities and ensure its alignment with regional and global enterprise direction
Outcome (within the first 6 months)
1-Develop and maintain the current state telematics architecture A-Review the current environment and document the architecture B-Keep the PM and other stakeholders informed on key architecture decisions 2-Lead the team through the design process of the feature development. 3-Govern the architecture integrity when features move into development are being developed 4-Influence and provide input in the future direction for the telematics program A-Make key technology decisions and recommendations for the program that is in global and regional direction alignment 5-Hire and mentor technical resources on the team A-Assist with hiring of tech leads and other developers on the program B-Assist with troubleshooting of critical technical issues C-Key member of the technical leadership staff of the program 6-Provide pre-sales support for new efforts A-Review the concept B-Collaboratively work with R&D counter-parts to develop the idea C-Determine feasibility and identify risks D-Develop high level estimates and work plan
Qualifications for the job:
Technical Must have skills Experience in a consulting firm (Big 5 preferred) or Product Development organization (web/mobile internet based company or telematics provider) Software Product Development experience using the Java development leveraging the Spring and Hibernate Framework. Experience with mentoring teams on Aspect Oriented Programming with hands on code samples Leveraging existing ESB/BPM architecture for solution development Experience with developing server side software that interacts with embedded devices Understanding of Infrastructure Design (Servers, Networks, Load Balancers, etc.) Experience with leveraging enterprise security authentication and authorization infrastructure
Nice to have skills:
Native mobile application development (iOS and Android) Experience with web technologies (HTML5, AJAX, JavaScript, JSON) Knowledge of Social Networking Services such as Twitter, Facebook and the ability to integrate with them from a UI and security point of view Experience with Portal based UI development Evaluating and/or implementing cloud based solutions (Amazon, Go Grid, etc.) Developing software for global and multi-language use Reviewing security vulnerability report from external security experts and assisting and developing counter-measures Leveraging enterprise monitoring solutions to effectively monitor the application Build and Release process for a Websphere/DB2 based development
Soft Skills:
Ability to manage people (coach and mentor skills needed; don’t need someone who will do the work for others) Ability to develop and manage projects via a plan Ability to develop and communicate technical concepts via: -MS Power Point to non-technical people -UML, code snippet, etc. to technical people Ability to lead and work in a matrixed organization Ability to explain technical position without getting emotional Ability to work and deal with conflict (technical) Ability to communicate (upwards, peer and downward) accurately and at appropriate time Ability to manage and juggle multiple priorities with dexterity
